A cycle experience that explores the true beauty of New Zealand's central North Island. You will venture deep into Pureora Forest Park on a trail featuring ancient forest, birdlife, graceful suspension bridges and intriguing timber industry relics, before finishing with inspiring views across Lake Taupo to the peaks of Tongariro National Park.

Offering some slightly more technical cycle trails, with a couple of challenging climbs. However, with the addition of an e-bike, this tour can be tackled by all riders who feel competent off-road.

Day 1
We head for the stunning Pureora Forest to tackle the well renowned Timber Trail. The first leg is a 40km journey over the high point of the trail finishing at Piropiro and the Timber Trail Lodge. With a cold drink on the deck well earned. Lodging: Timber Trail Lodge

Day 2
Rising to peaceful surrounds of the Pureora forest, time for a big breakfast then it's back on the bikes for the 2nd half of the trail(45km). With some challenging climbs but a brilliant downhill into Ongarue to finish. Then it's a 1hr drive to our accommodation for the night at the southern end of Lake Taupo. Time to relax, have a dip in the lake or visit the Tokaanu Hot Pools

Day 3
Starting the day with breakfast overlooking the crystal clear waters of Lake Taupo, you'll feel refreshed and ready to go again. We have a short transfer to start a section of the Great Lake Trail, winding our way around the lake edge to Kinloch. Here we will ditch the bikes and take a 2hr boat cruise with bbq lunch on board. Visit the ancient Maori carvings before returning to Taupo.

Day 4
After 3 big days, today will be an easier start with time for a relaxed coffee in Taupo to start before we tackling the Huka trails along the banks for the Waikato River, to the Atiamuri Dam and return 30km.

Day 5
Time for a gentle cruise along the shores of Lake Taupo along the Great Lake Pathway. A 10km return journey to enjoy at your own pace. Finishing with coffee at a local cafe
